That is so lovely - She is a beautiful sweet girl - and I know how easily she and her sister can touch your heart.

But remember you are touching her life in a huge way as well- A way that she will remember for all her days - you are such a shining light for her and all the little ones lives - God will bless you richly for allowing His love to shine through you and warm all those around you as you do so well.

I love your heart.

Wow! Everything you said is so magnificently true. If we are truly and brutally honest with ourselves (just ourselves, not even our closest friends), we know how great of a sinner we are. I believe that is what motivated Paul to call himself "chief" among sinners. But we are so afraid to be brutally honest with ourselves, because we know that it would only lead to such guilt and pain as you described, Jayln. We would writhe away into a wilting pile of pity until all that was left was a bruised and broken individual. BUT... that is where God's love is the most astounding, the most amazing, the most inconceivable, the most comforting, and the most crucial. When we are in those seemingly low points, that is when we are highest. Not because of anything in us (far be it from us to take any credit whatsoever!), but only and solely because of Christ! When we are so low that we have nowhere to turn but Christ, that is when our eyes are truly open. For even when circumstances are good and our life seems to be on the right track and everything is going right... even then we are still just as helpless as when we are low. It's just that when things are going well, we put blinders on and think that we got there by our own hard work.

I find myself praying quite often (and if anyone heard me praying, they would think I was a masochist) that God would tear me down and bring me low, no matter how much it hurts. Because I know that in those times, when I feel isolated from everything else, those are the times when I feel closest to God and to my precious Savior, Jesus!

Let me know. Call me 349-6331H.

I am anxious to see you.

hi jayln..it's been a while to say hi but i have kept up with your wonderful logging on a daily base. you make things just come alive about the children and their every day events. how true it is that we here have sooo much, and with less we would be less cluttered in mind and spirit. Christ would HAVE to be the realing factor for us in daily life. I'm looking forward to your return and when you will be giving your report to us about the experiences in Africa. the pictures show the beauty of the children and area you were in. hey... ever thought about writing abook and the adventures you have had in those 3 months? well til we see each other soon, God Bless you and keep you in His Love, the moon was so neet last night I thought of you.hallie

Hey Birthday Girl, wow, #20 tomorrow, 26 May 2009. Happy, happy Birthday to you from Betty Floyd, Linda Bradley and me. Linda and I met again at Dalton's this past Sat. and talked about you (a great subject). Hope you are keeping your most interesting stories you send us. Heard your Dad and friends were able to come visit. What an incredible experience for all. I pray for you and your mission daily. You are making a tremendous difference to all involved. I love you. Stay well and safe. LB
