it has been an amazing two weeks! i have slacked greatly in the writing area, but the excuse is genuine. of course i had no internet where we were. we have been away with a team from the states that came to build two churches. they just so happened to be my very own church family. led by my very own dad. so if you will, please understand my lack of blogging. you’d do it to! here is a summary of what has been happening. the team arrived. a group of 9 men and 1 lady. can you believe that their luggage and flight came in on time as well? thank you Lord. the next day we traveled north to the city of meru. oh my its absolutely beautiful! nestled in the foothills of mount kenya. the mountain is the the second highest peak in africa. it seems to explode right out of the ground with such authority, scraping the belly of the african skies. its rough terrain is graced with touches of snow here and there. the fields below are filled with miles and miles of golden wheat and produce. the bread basket of kenya. its wonder to the eyes (i’ll post pictures)…we started building the first church on wednesday. after a bit of childrens ministry, talking to the village people, eating the food prepared by the local mammas, working, sweating, making kids squeal with laughter (my favorite part), working some more….we finally finished the simple church structure. it took only a day and a half! we dedicated it to the Glory of the Lord, then moved on to the next. a day and a half later the another village had a completed place of worship to our Great God. the guys worked in record time, all the while with big smiles, reflecting the love of our Jesus, for His Glory. all for Him. many stories have captured me over the past two weeks, i shall post them soon….
